SCOTTISH CHURCHES GO FOR MORE THAN GOLD

19th June 2014

Churches in Scotland are gearing up for a series of community and youth events leading up to and during the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in July and August. Under the banner 'Commonhealth & Wellbeing', it involves a series of health expos, a church health club, a children's holiday Bible club, a five-a-side football tournament, a praise concert and cycling and walking events.

IMG_7292As a YES Project – Youth Engaged in Service – it has gained More Than Gold 2014 and Legacy Glasgow status that attracts countrywide recognition and support. It has also attracted church medical and nursing teams from Norway and Portugal who will be participating in the health-related events.

For instance, this last weekend saw the final of the five-a-side football tournament and a warm-up walk along the West Highland Way at Loch Lomond.
