EXCITING NEWS!!  The BUC Youth Ministries Department has launched a brand-new way to achieve your Pathfinder Awards during lockdown.  Using the Zoom video conferencing service and linking the various presenters, the BUC Pathfinder Director and the Pathfinders themselves, the three hour-long sessions will be an interactive learning time.  There will be a range of honours on offer including those which are requirements for the different Pathfinder classes.

We are so excited because this innovative way of teaching will provide a valuable resource for British Union Pathfinders to continue their learning even when churches are closed, and gatherings are not possible. Several club directors were wondering how to continue Pathfinder classes and have shared their joy on Facebook for this opportunity.

The news of the zoom sessions has reached many parts of the globe with those wanting to take part from as far away as Mexico, Trinidad, Monserrat, several African nations, the USA, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Dubai and more.  The Trans-European Division and General Conference Pathfinder Departments have also shared the Facebook announcement to their audience.

Pastor Clifford Herman at the South England Conference Pathfinder Dept. will be creating some pre-recorded e-Honour 1 hour tutorials with downloadable worksheets and additional helps. These can be accessed via the SEC Pathfinder website or their Facebook page  at any time to work through at each Pathfinder’s pace.  You can register for these honours on the SEC Pathfinder website or Facebook page. These will be in addition to (and on some occasions complementary to) the Honours being presented live via the BUC.

Full details are available on the BUC Youth Ministries Facebook Page   or on the British Union Conference Youth Ministries website.

Join us online at the times in the poster and follow along in your homes.

  1. Let your club leader or class coordinator know in advance that you will be joining.
  2. Run a test connection before the hour begins (the link will be live 10 minutes beforehand).  Please remember to ask an adult for permission before you join online if you are aged less than 16.
  3. Follow along for the whole hour with lots of other Pathfinders from around the country. Smile, wave, have fun!
  4. Take a screen shot of yourself in the online group so we know you were there.
  5. Email your club director or class coordinator with the written part of the assessment and any accompanying videos or recordings.
  6. Your club leader or class coordinator will then have everything they need to complete the online honour registration form for you: https://form.jotform.com/200843659237359
  7. Your club director/area coordinator will need to sign off your honour, so please make sure you have all your work completed in full and collated in one place.
  8. Don't forget to share this with your friends - they may want to earn the honour too!
  9. Full details can be found at www.adventistyouth.org.uk
