Glasgow members gathered on Saturday the 30th September 2023 from 10 pm to 6:30 am at Glasgow church for an all-night prayer. Organised by the local Prayer Ministry team under the supervision of Sister Adina Lupu, one of the Scottish Mission Prayer Ministry Sponsors, the night was consecrated to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the church.

Pastor Claudiu Popescu said to be “surprised and amazed to see how the Holy Spirit impressed 15 members of Glasgow church to attend the all-night prayer meeting. It was one of the most uplifting experiences, seeing a church pleading for the Spirit of God to empower us in our spiritual journey to be able to discern correctly and give us the strength to serve and an attitude of thankfulness in all circumstances,” he said.

Six speakers took turns in leading the different presentations with series of praise in hymns and special songs, testimonies and prayers after each sermonette. There were light refreshments served during fellowship.

The night started with a sequence of praise and worship after the welcoming word and prayer by Sister Adina. Following this, the attendees participated in a prayer of praise and gratitude, followed by a period of meditation on the theme of "The Beauty of Humility," and a dedicated time for confession. Sister Adina revealed to be “looking forward to the bright future of Glasgow church, not because any of us are worthy but because God is faithful to answer the humble prayers of His children.”

The second presentation was led by Sister Skha as she listed seven points on how we can pray when going through difficult situations. One of the tips derived from James 1:12 as she encouraged the church to pray to always remain faithful and not fearful. She also stressed that we should pray for those who harm us, pray that God will be honoured and glorified no matter what we’re going through, ask God to show us what we should learn from our trials and thank God in all circumstances.

Speaking on Glasgow church’s greatest need, Pastor Claudiu Popescu exhorted members to remain steadfast in their faith because for every difficulty, God has a purpose and a plan. “There is no church that does not have issues,” he said. Speaking on 2 Corinthians 12:10, he stressed that we are strongest in our lowest moments as when we submit to God, He can take over and use His full strength. He emphasized the importance of following King David's example as depicted in Psalm 51, urging us to open our hearts to God, repent, and seek His mercy, just as David did.

Elder Beavon Sanderson, encouraged the church to make good use of the privilege of prayer in order to not deviate from the right path as we benefit from God’s rich promises of Isaiah 41:10 and Isaiah 43:2 and to not give up on attending prayer meetings.

Sister Phelomen Mukangiliye highlighted the significant responsibility of parenthood, stating that watching over our children is a divine assignment from God. Failing our children will be one of the aspects we'll be held accountable for. She firmly emphasized the importance of raising children in a godly manner to guide them on the right path, adding that a church without children is a church in decline. Her main prayer for children came from Ezekiel 36:26. She ended her sermonette with Rev 21:27, expressing her hope to see the names of all children written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Sister Cynthia Mupedziswa emphasized the importance of prayer and fasting, drawing inspiration from James 5:16, stating that the prayer of a righteous person is especially impactful. She urged the church community to lead righteous lives in God's eyes, highlighting that answers to our prayers may be hindered if we harbor iniquity in our hearts and neglect to seek forgiveness from those we have wronged.

Sister Blandine Damtse’s sermonette derived from the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8. She encouraged the brethren to be faithful and persistent in prayer as they PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens).

The night ended with a sequence of songs, powerful testimonies of answered prayers and a prayer chain. We believe the heaven rejoiced for this sacred night in the presence of the Lord.
