In early October, more than 60 women gathered in Motherwell for a weekend retreat. The retreat offered a diverse array of activities designed to nurture the mind, body and spirit. The lineup of guest speakers featured Pastor Linda Asare from the South England Conference, Chloe Kobuane from Birmingham, and Sylvie Makanga from Paisley. The retreat centred around the theme ‘It’s not an easy road…Only through Christ.’

The retreat placed a strong emphasis on prayer, with distinct sessions tailored for young ladies, women, young men and men. Special musical items added a touch of inspiration and creativity to the event. Attendees had the chance to share their personal testimonies, recounting their challenges and triumphs. This served as a powerful reminder that life's journey may present challenges, but with unwavering faith in Christ, one can overcome them.

Saturday evening was undoubtedly a high point, marked by a delightful banquet. The addition of games and activities injected a sense of joy and unity into the retreat. The atmosphere resonated with laughter and joy as attendees formed connections and crafted enduring memories in the process.

Many found the retreat to be a source of inspiration, empowerment, and spiritual rejuvenation. It brought together women of diverse backgrounds, uniting them in faith, strength, and sisterhood. As attendees left the retreat, they carried with them not only memories but also a renewed sense of purpose and an unwavering faith that, indeed, it’s not an easy road, but with Christ as our guide and source of strength, we can overcome obstacles and find the path to peace and salvation.
