Scottish Pastors Return to Shetland to Strengthen Community Ties and Build on Their Ministry

Shetland continues to be on the hearts and minds of pastors who first visited the island in May 2023. Pastors Wil Masih, Weiers Coetser, and retired pastor Paul Tompkins returned to the island last week to strengthen the relationships they established and expand on their efforts from a year ago.

During their visit, the pastors met Elizabeth Yap, an Adventist woman visiting from Australia who feels a special connection to Shetland. Together, they organised a family-friendly Bible Treasure Hunt for locals to participate in at their convenience. This initiative aims to engage the community in a fun and meaningful way, promoting both fellowship and spiritual exploration.

In a now-familiar scene, the pastors hired bicycles and cycled around the island again, engaging in friendly conversations with residents and distributing books carrying messages of faith and hope.

Their presence and activities exemplify the importance of dedication, openness, and the willingness to embrace the unknown in service to others.
