Paisley Church Launches Free Community Breakfast
Paisley Seventh-day Adventist Church has launched a new weekly community breakfast, offering free food, hospitality and a welcoming space to connect with local residents.
Paisley Seventh-day Adventist Church launched a new Free Breakfast for the Community initiative on Friday, 21 August, opening its doors to local residents for a morning of food, conversation and connection.
Organised through the church’s Urban Centre of Influence (UCI), the initiative will offer a free breakfast every Friday from 8:30–10:30 am, providing a welcoming space where members of the local community can meet, share a meal and build relationships.
A team of volunteers gathered early on Friday morning to prepare and serve a warm, healthy breakfast.

Among those who attended were people volunteers had met while distributing invitations in the surrounding community during the week.
For Pastor Ratko Risteski, who serves the Paisley congregation, one encounter particularly demonstrated the value of making personal connections.
During the week, Risteski met a family passing by and struck up a conversation before inviting them to the breakfast. On Friday morning, they arrived and spent time talking with members of the church community. Following their visit, the family expressed an interest in returning to experience the church community for themselves.
The breakfast forms part of the church’s wider effort to strengthen its connection with the local community through practical service and hospitality.
“Projects like this are important because they allow us not only to reach out to our community but also to demonstrate in practical ways that we genuinely care about people,” said Risteski. “We hope to build relationships, meet practical needs, and share God’s love through acts of kindness and hospitality.”

With the first breakfast now complete, volunteers hope the weekly initiative will become a regular point of connection between the church and people living in the surrounding area.
The Free Breakfast for the Community takes place every Friday from 8:30–10:30 am at Paisley Seventh-day Adventist Church.
