Senior, ordained or commissioned Minister of Religion (London)

The South England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is a registered charity and Head Office of the Seventh-day Adventist Churches in the South of England.

We are looking to appoint a senior, ordained or commissioned Minister of Religion to take up pastoral responsibility of one of our London churches and associated church plants.

Essential Criteria:

  • Being a senior Seventh-day Adventist Minister of Religion with sufficient depth of experience to supervise ministerial interns
  • Adherence to the ethos and values of the Seventh-day Adventist church
  • Church planting experience and the ability to embrace diversity in all its forms
  • Must practise and demonstrate faith and belief in the fundamental doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, including the Spirit of Prophecy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing congregations
  • Leading worship services regularly and on special occasions
  • Providing religious education for children and adults by preaching and teaching
  • Lead special ceremonies or programs such as baptisms, marriages, funerals, and other special services
  • Creating a church program of visitation for those in need such as the elderly, sick, lonely or those simply unable to leave their homes
  • Offering counselling and welfare support to members of the congregation and the wider community
  • The ability to give Bible study lessons to Christian and non-Christian communities
  • Recruiting, training and co-ordinating the work of any local volunteers and lay preachers
  • Leading and training the congregation in evangelistic outreach

The successful applicant is required to be a practicing Seventh-day Adventist and be a senior, ordained or commissioned Seventh-day Adventist Minister of Religion with the minimum of a master’s degree in theology.

The post is full-time with the gross salary being £46,332.00 per annum, which includes a Regional Allowance.  In addition, there will be a monthly travel budget, professional development, and equipment allowances.
