ADRA-UK Launches its 2026 Advent Appeal
With the festive season on the horizon, ADRA-UK is inviting individuals, families and churches to embrace the spirit of giving by helping bring food and hope to families facing hunger around the world.
ADRA-UK launches its 2026 Advent Appeal on 1 November, highlighting the stark contrast between Christmas abundance and the daily reality of hunger and food insecurity facing many families around the world.
Under the theme “Advent with ADRA: A Season of Plenty. A Time to Share,” the appeal invites individuals, families and churches across the UK to turn festive generosity into practical support for people struggling to access food.
Around 645 million people experienced hunger in 2025, according to global statistics. Conflict, disasters, poverty and rising food prices continue to leave millions struggling to access nutritious food.
Speaking about the appeal, Sandra Golding, ADRA-UK CEO said: “Christmas is a season when many of us gather around tables filled with food. Yet millions of people do not have that privilege. Through this appeal, we are inviting everyone to turn compassion into action. Even a small gift can make a meaningful difference to a family facing hunger.”
Through its global network, ADRA provides emergency food and essential assistance while supporting communities to strengthen food security and build resilience.
Running from 1 November to 31 December 2026, ADRA-UK is calling on supporters to donate funds, that could help provide essential food support:
£20 could provide a week’s emergency food supply for a family of two.
£40 could help feed a family of four for a week.
£60 could help provide a week’s meals for a family of six.
Inspired by Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:35, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat” (NIV), ADRA-UK encourages supporters to give generously and share the appeal with others.
