About the Job

The British Union Conference (BUC) of Seventh-day Adventists is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices and is looking for an experienced Safeguarding Lead to support safeguarding oversight and practice across the territory of the BUC.

This will include:

Providing mentoring, advice and support across the BUC territory to stakeholders Ensure stakeholder engagement and quality assurance in all safeguarding practices and policies Work collectively with the Conference and Mission Safeguarding leads to enhance positive outcomes To administrate all internal safeguarding systems, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and vetting requirements

About You

To join us as a Safeguarding Lead you will need at least:

Level 3 Safeguarding UK or the equivalent thereof Previous experience and responsibility in casework involving the protection and safeguarding of children and / or vulnerable adults. Up-to-date knowledge of research and evidence-based practice models relevant to safeguarding. Ability to Lead organisational change and development, including cultural change, that results in improved outcomes for relevant stakeholders. Proven ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and work sensitively around those affected by safeguarding issues. A flexible, responsible, and responsive attitude.

Location: Watford, England
Seniority Level: Intermediate or Professional (senior staff)
Employment Type: Fixed-Term or Contract (6-18 months)
Hours of Work: Part-Time, negotiable
Salary: £ 33,900 - £48,500 (FTE) annual Seventh-day Adventist Church pay scale range. Actual pay will be based on your skills, experience and prorated to Part-Time agreed hours of work.
