District Day of Fellowship in Inverness Strengthens Faith and Fellowship
The Inverness Church welcomed congregants and guests on 2 August for its much-anticipated District Day of Fellowship, celebrating faith and fellowship across the region.
There was a joyful and welcoming atmosphere at the Inverness Seventh-day Adventist Church as people from across the region gathered for the latest District Day of Fellowship. Now a regular and much-loved event in the church calendar, the day brought together members from nearby congregations, visiting guests, and newcomers who were warmly welcomed into the church family.
The day began with a lively time of praise and thanksgiving, led by an enthusiastic worship team. The church was filled with the sound of singing as people joined in with both traditional hymns and modern worship songs. It was a moment for many to reconnect with God—and with each other—in a spirit of unity and gratitude.
A particularly touching moment came when a family, who had long been searching for a local church, arrived and were delighted to be part of the gathering. Even more encouraging was the news that a young person had expressed a desire to be baptised. Moments like these remind us that God continues to work in quiet, unexpected ways—drawing people closer to Him.
The Inverness district is also known for its young and vibrant congregation, made up mostly of Millennials. At a time when many assume young adults are turning away from faith, this community shows a different story. Their energy, creativity, and involvement bring fresh life to worship and fellowship, helping to build a warm and forward-looking church family. Over the last year or so, the district has become more united and has intentionally integrated various activities, demonstrating that, under strategic leadership, God can work to restore people and congregations to the right spirit of dwelling together in peace and harmony.
The main message of the day was shared by Pastor Wil Masih, who spoke on the well-known Bible story of The Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35). He reminded listeners how the two disciples on the road didn’t realise that the risen Jesus was walking right beside them.
“Little did the two disciples know that the One they thought was dead and gone was walking right beside them,” Pastor Masih shared. “It’s the same in our lives—Jesus often walks with us even when we don’t recognise it.”
The message encouraged many, offering hope and reassurance that we are never alone, even in hard times.
Following the service, everyone gathered for a shared meal. As always, the fellowship lunch was full of friendly conversation, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness. It was a chance to catch up with friends, meet new faces, and enjoy being part of a caring and supportive church family.
For many, this special day was a reminder of what church life is really about—worshipping together, building friendships, and encouraging each other in faith. With more events like this to come, the Inverness church community is excited to continue growing together.
