Dundee Church Hosts First Adventurer and Pathfinder Camp

The Dundee Church marked a milestone with its first combined Adventurer and Pathfinder camp, offering a faith-filled weekend of exploration, worship, and connection at Larick Campsite.

From the 11th to the 13th of July 2025, the Dundee Church made history by hosting its very first combined Adventurer and Pathfinder camp at the Larick Campsite under the theme ‘Created for Adventure’. The event brought together children aged 6 to 15, along with parents and church leaders, for a weekend filled with fun, learning, worship, and unforgettable memories.

The camp theme was brought to life through the camp’s theme song, ‘Created for Adventure,’ written and performed by one of the Master Guides*, which set a spiritual tone and heightened excitement throughout the weekend.

The camp officially opened on Friday with a vibrant opening ceremony. Campers, dressed in their full uniforms, marched proudly as parents and leaders looked on.

The day featured the Football Honour, where children learned teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship through engaging matches; and concluded with a devotion from Cedrene Botha, helping everyone reflect on their purpose and the adventure God calls each one to.

Saturday began with morning devotion, followed by a nature hike that allowed campers to connect with creation. Adventurers worked on their Bird Honour, learning to identify birds and understand their role in the ecosystem, while Pathfinders tackled camping skills, gaining essential outdoor survival knowledge. Later in the evening, a special devotion explored the ‘4 F’s’ - Flight, Freeze, Fight, and Focus - teaching the children how to spiritually and emotionally respond to challenges. The day ended with a lively bonfire and games, creating lasting bonds between campers as laughter filled the night sky.

The final day began with a joyful devotion after breakfast, followed by a formal parade to close the camp. Just as the weekend drew to a close, dignitaries from the Scottish Mission, AY Sponsors, made a surprise visit, encouraging both campers and leaders in their commitment to youth ministry.

The camp was not only a milestone for the Dundee Church but also a life-changing experience for the children. For many, it was their first time attending a camp in Scotland and their first experience camping with the church community. The joy of playing with friends, singing around the fire, learning new skills, and being surrounded by caring leaders created cherished memories they will carry for years to come.

The Dundee Church praises God for the success of this camp and remains committed to nurturing the next generation through programmes that blend faith, adventure, and personal growth.
