Dundee Church Member Publishes Christian Adventure Novel

Bringing together science, mystery and Christian faith, Dundee church member Dr John Walton's latest novel takes readers on an adventure that goes beyond the world of dinosaurs.

After several years of writing, editing and preparation, Dundee church member Dr John Walton has published his latest book, Dinosaur Legacy, a Christian adventure novel combining mystery, scientific discovery and questions of faith.

The story follows an enquiry agent whose investigation into extraordinary discoveries in palaeontology takes him from London to Montana, where he encounters unexpected dangers, competing interests and questions about science and history.

Drawing inspiration from Jesus’ use of storytelling, Walton has woven several Seventh-day Adventist beliefs into the narrative, including creation, the nature of death, Communion and the benefits of a plant-based diet.

“In writing it, I tried to follow Jesus’ example of telling intriguing and eye-opening stories,” Walton explained. He hopes the novel will serve as a faith-building resource, introducing readers to Christianity or strengthening their existing beliefs.

Dinosaur Legacy is available in paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon.

To mark the publication, Dr Walton is offering a free paperback copy to the first 100 people who email him at jcw@st-andrews.ac.uk with their postal address and agree to leave an honest review on the book's Amazon page.
