Celebration in Dunfermline as Four Take the Step of Baptism

Marking a special milestone in their spiritual journey, the congregation joined together to celebrate four individuals embracing baptism and committing their lives to Christ.

A spirit of celebration marked a special baptismal service on 21 February at the Dunfermline Seventh-day Adventist Church, also known as Hope House, where four individuals publicly declared their faith.

Among those baptised were siblings Julius and Rachel, Isaura and Mufaro. All four completed baptismal studies under the guidance of Pastor Fitzroy Morris and church elder Genevieve Zabate in preparation for this important step in their Christian journey.

Sharing their reflections, Julius said, “I felt great when I got baptised — I felt like a new person.” Rachel added, “I’m still processing it, but I feel like I’m ready to learn even more about God.”

Isaura described the occasion as deeply meaningful: “I felt happy and excited that I was finally getting baptised. Afterwards, I felt complete — but also like my journey has just begun.”

Mufaro acknowledged feeling some initial nervousness but also recognised the significance of the decision. “Before I was baptised, I felt a bit nervous because I thought my understanding had to be perfect,” she said. “But I was also excited because baptism is important to me. Afterwards, I felt peaceful and proud of the decision I made. It felt like a fresh start and a deeper connection in my faith.” She also expressed gratitude for the encouragement she received during the baptismal classes, highlighting the prayers, guidance and support of the pastor and teachers.

The service was made even more special by the dedication of two children and the presence of supportive family members and friends, making it a memorable occasion for the wider church community.

For Pastor Fitzroy Morris, the day was particularly significant as it marked his first baptismal service in Dunfermline since his arrival. Reflecting on the occasion, he said, “It was humbling, and I was delighted. The Bible reminds us that there is great joy in heaven when someone gives their life to God. As a minister of the gospel, it is a privilege to share in that joy — especially when young people give their lives to Jesus.”

The occasion stands as an encouraging milestone for the Dunfermline congregation and a testament to God’s continuing work through His church in Scotland.
