Glasgow Church Family Enjoys Annual Fun Day

The Glasgow church family enjoyed a joyful day of fellowship, fun and celebration at their annual Family Fun Day in Strathclyde Park, strengthening relationships and reflecting the unity of the congregation.

Strathclyde Park came alive with colour, laughter and fellowship on 14 June 2026 as the Glasgow church family gathered for its annual Family Fun Day. Blessed with glorious sunshine, clear blue skies and warm summer temperatures, the setting provided the perfect backdrop for a day dedicated to community, connection and celebration.

Bringing together over 100 church members and invited friends, the event was a vibrant expression of unity and fellowship, reflecting the strong bonds that continue to strengthen the Glasgow congregation.

The day began with prayer, drawing everyone together in gratitude and setting a joyful and uplifting tone for the activities ahead. From the outset, a remarkable spirit of teamwork was evident as organisers and volunteers worked diligently behind the scenes to prepare food, arrange activities and ensure every detail was in place. Their dedication and willingness to serve laid the foundation for a successful and memorable occasion.

A major highlight of the day was the programme of activities, which kept participants engaged throughout the event. Children, youth and adults enthusiastically joined in a variety of games, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement and laughter. Tug-of-war contests sparked friendly competition, while relay balloon races encouraged teamwork and generated countless moments of fun.

The joyful atmosphere proved infectious, attracting the attention of other park visitors, who stopped to watch and, in some cases, joined in the activities. Throughout the day, the park echoed with laughter, conversation and the sound of people enjoying one another's company.

"It was impossible not to smile today," one church member remarked. "Seeing everyone together like this reminds you what church family really means."

Another attendee reflected on the spirit of the gathering, saying, "The unity here is powerful. You don't just see it – you feel it."

Adding to the occasion was the presence of Pastor Claudiu Popescu, who actively participated in the games and fellowship throughout the day. His involvement further reinforced the sense of togetherness and family that characterised the event.

As lunchtime approached, the enticing aroma of freshly prepared food filled the air. The catering team provided a generous and well-organised spread that catered for a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. Guests enjoyed an array of dishes, including barbecue, pap, salads, pizza, chapatis, vegetarian options and a selection of refreshing drinks.

A particular highlight was the homemade juice prepared by one of the church members, which quickly became a favourite among attendees seeking refreshment in the summer sunshine.

The day also provided an opportunity to celebrate special milestones within the church family. Members gathered to celebrate birthdays, singing joyfully before sharing birthday cake together. The celebration added a personal and heart-warming touch to the festivities, highlighting the close-knit relationships that make the church community so special.

Speaking on behalf of the Interest Coordinators, Skha Ndlovu praised the collective effort that made the day possible.

"This is what we can achieve as a church in Glasgow when everyone plays their part," she said. "The unity, the effort and the willingness to serve made today a real success."

As the afternoon unfolded, cameras captured countless smiles, candid moments and joyful interactions. Yet the significance of the day extended far beyond the photographs taken. It was a powerful expression of fellowship in action, demonstrating the bonds that unite the church community and the shared commitment to supporting and encouraging one another.

Although the Family Fun Day was not organised as an outreach event, it nevertheless served as a meaningful witness to the wider community. The sight of people openly praying, sharing fellowship and expressing genuine care for one another attracted the attention of many park visitors, offering a positive reflection of Christian faith and values in everyday life.

The Glasgow Church Family Fun Day at Strathclyde Park was more than a social gathering. It was a celebration of faith, friendship and unity, leaving attendees with cherished memories, strengthened relationships and a renewed sense of belonging. As participants packed away chairs, cleared tables and prepared for the journey home, one thing was evident: the true success of the day was not measured by the games played or the food shared, but by the spirit of togetherness that defined every moment. It was a fitting reminder of the strength, warmth and unity of the Glasgow church family, and a day that will be remembered long after the celebrations came to an end.
