Glasgow Church Hosts Year-End Night of Prayer, Urges 30 Days of Morning Devotion

In its final Night of Prayer of the year, the Glasgow Church saw more than 40 members come together for a “spiritual reset,” marked by forgiveness, testimony, and renewed surrender to God.

More than 40 members of the Glasgow Seventh‑day Adventist Church gathered on 6 December 2025 for the congregation’s final Night of Prayer of the year — an evening marked by reflection, testimonies, and renewed commitment to faith.

Messages of Forgiveness and Surrender

The evening opened with a message on forgiveness and love, stressing that mercy and forgiveness are one of the clearest expressions of true Christian love. A subsequent session encouraged attendees to dedicate mornings to God for 30 days, drawing on Isaiah 50:4–6. Using the metaphor of surrendering the driver’s seat to Jesus, participants were invited to hand over daily routines, possessions, and even digital distractions to Christ’s guidance.

Testimonies of Faith and Healing

The programme featured heartfelt testimonies of how prayer brought resolution to personal struggles, spiritual nourishment, and healing. One testimony highlighted the congregation’s collective prayers for a member undergoing cancer treatment, who was later declared cancer‑free — an experience that strengthened the community’s faith. Others reflected on how prayer brought guidance, comfort, and reassurance in times of need.

A Call to Be the Answer to Prayer

A study on Exodus 3:1–10 reminded participants that God sometimes answers prayers by sending people themselves, just as Moses was sent to Israel. Four principles were outlined: God may call us to be the answer to prayer, He often reveals Himself in unexpected ways, His holiness sets Him apart, and He requires only our willingness.

Looking Ahead

The night concluded with prayers for children, youth, and ongoing church projects, leaving participants with a deep sense of spiritual fulfilment. Reflecting on the evening, one participant described the gathering as both “spiritually enriching” and “refreshing,” noting how the open sharing of experiences brought unexpected renewal. Another emphasised the importance of cultivating “daily uninterrupted and unrushed study and prayer time,” seeing it as a practical discipline to draw closer to God and sustain faith beyond the event.

Described by Pastor Claudiu Popescu as a “spiritual reset,” the gathering fostered gratitude, unity, and a clearer vision for God’s plan, while affirming prayer as “the heartbeat of the church and a source of strength and guidance.” More than a programme, it was a meaningful moment of connection with God and fellow believers, preparing the Glasgow Church community to step into the New Year under His guidance.
