Malawian and Zambian Adventists Unite in Fellowship at Bucksburn Church
On April 5th, the Bucksburn Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a joyful gathering of Malawian and Zambian Adventists from across Scotland.
On April 5th, the Bucksburn Seventh-day Adventist Church, which meets at The Stables, a beautiful venue connected to the Brimmond Church of Scotland just outside Aberdeen, was filled with joyful worship and warm fellowship as Malawian and Zambian Adventists from across Scotland gathered for a special get-together. The event, which saw attendance nearly triple the usual 14–20 members, brought together around 40 worshippers from Dunfermline, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and the host church in Bucksburn.
The day was marked by inspiring spiritual messages, heartfelt reunions, and the making of new friendships. In the morning, a thought-provoking Bible study was held for the adults, while the children participated in two dedicated classes. During the divine service, church elder Nhamo Daka delivered an impactful sermon, encouraging those present not to merely react to others’ actions but to remain grounded in their faith and values. “When we simply react, we give others power over our actions,” he emphasised. “Do not allow people’s behaviour to negatively change your attitude.”
The afternoon programme was a lively mix of testimonies, special music, and an interactive quiz for all ages. The gathering concluded with a stirring sermonette from a visiting elder, leaving attendees spiritually uplifted.
Members reflected on the day as a true blessing, celebrating the unity and encouragement found in worshipping together. The Bucksburn Church looks forward to hosting more such gatherings, strengthening connections within the Malawian and Zambian Adventist community across Scotland.
The Bucksburn Church welcomes visitors. They are open on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of every month. Worship services run from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
