Over 100 Children Celebrate Adventurer Day 2025 at The Vine Centre in Dunfermline
Close to 300 people gathered at The Vine Centre on May 17 for Adventurer Day 2025 — a joyful celebration of faith, learning, and community, centred on the theme “Travel in/with Faith.”
Joy and anticipation filled The Vine Centre on May 17 as more than 100 children aged 4 to 9 gathered to celebrate Adventurer Day under the theme “Travel in/with Faith.” The event brought together families, club leaders, and church members for a meaningful day of worship, learning, and fun.

The programme featured a variety of interactive and fun Bible-based activities designed to help children explore what it means to walk and grow in faith. As they rotated through themed stations, participants engaged in age-appropriate lessons that made spiritual concepts both accessible and enjoyable.

Adventurer Club leaders demonstrated remarkable dedication in coordinating the event, fostering an atmosphere where every child felt welcomed, included, and inspired. The Pathfinders also played a key role by leading the Drum Corps and flag-raising ceremony, which added a ceremonial and uplifting start to the day’s proceedings.

The presence of Pastor Jimmy Botha, Mission President, was both an honour and an encouragement to attendees. His support emphasised the importance of nurturing the spiritual lives of the church’s youngest members. During the event, Pastor Botha introduced Yvonne and Paul Kanjewe, the new Scottish Mission sponsors, to club leaders and Adventurers. Additional support from Pastors Fitzroy Morris, Weiers Coetser, and Njay Ndlovu further strengthened the sense of community and shared mission.
The morning sermon, delivered by Cedrene Botha, was heartfelt and impactful, capturing the attention of children and adults alike. Her message aligned closely with the day’s theme and encouraged attendees to reflect and continue on their journeys of faith.

The afternoon featured a vibrant Talent Showcase, giving children the opportunity to share their God-given gifts through song, poetry, drama, and other creative expressions. The event highlighted the diverse talents within the church community and underscored the importance of nurturing these abilities from an early age.
Parental support was clearly visible and deeply appreciated. Families participated enthusiastically, reinforcing the vital role of parents in their children’s spiritual development and contributing to the warm, communal atmosphere.
As the day came to a close, reflections on the event highlighted its success in fostering connection, joy, and faith. Anticipation is already building for next year’s celebration and the continued journey of growing in faith together.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to all who helped make the day so memorable — leaders, volunteers, parents, pastors, Pathfinders, and above all, the wonderful Adventurers.
To God be the glory for a truly blessed day!
