Scottish Mission Family Ministries Leaders Training
On the weekend of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April 2025, the Scottish Mission Family Ministries Department held a leadership training event for all Family Ministries leaders from churches across Scotland. The training was held at Gartmore House in Stirling, with eleven leaders in attendance from the Dundee, Edinburgh, Faifley, Paisley, and Musselburgh churches. The theme for the weekend was “Building Stronger Family Ministries.”
The attendees took an active part in the event. Renaldo Hines from Musselburgh led the Sabbath morning devotional, titled “Unshakeable Families, Unbreakable Bonds,” with the Scripture reading from Ruth 1:16–17.

The weekend included presentations and discussions on several key topics: Foundations of Family Ministries, Marriage and Family Dynamics, Families in Today’s Context, and Steps to Effective Family Ministries. Interactive group sessions provided opportunities for participants to brainstorm and deliberate on the challenges facing families within local churches. The sessions concluded with a dedicated time of prayer for Family Ministries leaders, led by the Scottish Mission Prayer Sponsor, Beverley Anderson.

On Sunday, Dundee church elder Larry Adegbite led the morning devotional titled “Where Are You?” based on Joshua 1:1–7.

The Scottish Mission Strategic Plan for Family Ministries was also presented to the local church leaders, outlining key themes and action plans to be implemented at the local level.
The leaders agreed to hold a Scottish Mission Family Ministries retreat on the weekend of 26th–28th September 2025.
