Scottish Mission Master Guide Trainees Hone Outdoor Skills at Comrie Croft
Master Guides from across the region gathered at Comrie Croft for a weekend of hands-on outdoor skills training, leadership development, and spiritual fellowship.
A group of dedicated Master Guide trainees gathered at Comrie Croft for a weekend skills camp from 27–29 June, embracing the great outdoors in scenic Perthshire. Nestled in the countryside near Crieff, the site offered an ideal setting for practical training, team building, and spiritual fellowship.

The Master Guide programme, part of the wider Adventist Youth Ministries, equips leaders with practical and spiritual tools to serve in their churches and communities. This camp provided the perfect opportunity to put many of those skills into action — including camp setup, knot-tying, navigation, fire-building, and outdoor cooking. A particular thanks goes to David Hatch and Jimmy Musonda, who led much of the training across the weekend with patience, enthusiasm, and expertise.

For some attendees, it was their very first time camping — a significant personal milestone that was met with courage and a good dose of humour. However, not everyone had an easy time — those who suffer from hay fever found the tall grass and pollen-rich environment a real challenge. Despite this discomfort, spirits remained high, and the group powered through, showing the resilience and camaraderie that the Master Guide journey is all about.
