Scottish Mission Pastor Publishes First Devotional Inspired by His Journey of Faith

Drawing on his personal journey from Trinidad and Tobago to Scotland, Pastor Renaldo Hines has published his first devotional, Stay With Me, I'm Going Somewhere, to encourage readers in their walk with God.

Pastor Renaldo Hines, who serves the Crieff and Dundee Seventh-day Adventist churches in the Scottish Mission, has published his first devotional book, Stay With Me, I’m Going Somewhere – a 60-day devotional inspired by his journey from Trinidad and Tobago to Scotland.

The transition to a new country became a significant season of reflection and spiritual growth. As Pastor Hines adjusted to life in Scotland, he began recording the experiences, challenges and lessons that shaped this new chapter. Those reflections would eventually become the foundation of his first book.

Writing had long been an integral part of Pastor Hines' ministry. Through years of sermon preparation, personal reflection and the encouragement of those around him, he came to recognise writing as a gift through which he could encourage and strengthen others. Yet despite that affirmation, the move to the United Kingdom caused his long-held ambition of writing a book to recede into the background.

The turning point came with the encouragement of his wife, Delisa. Despite initially doubting he could write a book, her confidence in him gave him the courage to begin writing in earnest in April 2025.

Structured as a 60-day devotional, the book is divided into six sections of ten days, followed by a bonus reflective week. Each reading combines Scripture, personal reflection and practical application, inviting readers to consider how God may be working in their own lives.

At the heart of the devotional is Pastor Hines' conviction that walking with God is not simply about reaching a destination, but about recognising His presence throughout every stage of the journey.

Pastor Hines hopes the devotional will encourage readers to reflect on their own experiences and build a "memory bank" of God's faithfulness. By looking back at the ways God has led in the past, they can find renewed confidence to trust Him with the path ahead.

Stay With Me, I’m Going Somewhere is independently published and is available worldwide through Amazon in print format. The paperback edition is priced at £11.99, while the hardcover edition is available for £16.99.
