On Saturday, 22nd February, young people from across Scotland gathered in Kirkcaldy for the highly anticipated Youth Day of Fellowship. Hosted at the historic Adam Smith Theatre, the event brought together around 180 young believers under the uplifting theme, "Never Alone.” It was a day filled with worship, fellowship and deep spiritual reflection, leaving attendees feeling encouraged, strengthened, and inspired in their faith journeys.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as youth groups from Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Paisley, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, and beyond arrived at the venue. The event kicked off with a vibrant worship session led by the Scottish Mission Youth Choir, whose harmonious blend of contemporary songs and timeless hymns set the tone for a day dedicated to spiritual renewal and unity.

The central theme, “Never Alone,” echoed throughout the day, offering solace and hope to young people navigating life’s complexities. Many attendees shared that the theme was a timely reminder of God’s unwavering presence in their lives, especially amid the challenges of modern society.

The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the powerful sermons delivered by Pastor Marcel Ghioalda, the Trans-European Division Youth Director. Known for his engaging and relatable preaching style, Pastor Ghioalda captivated the audience with two impactful messages that resonated deeply with everyone present.

In the morning session, Pastor Ghioalda delivered a profound breakdown of Psalms 23, painting a vivid picture of God as our Shepherd, Provider, and ever-present Guide. His sermon delved into the comforting imagery of green pastures and still waters, emphasising how God leads His people to places of peace and rest.

He also unpacked the verse, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me,” offering a powerful reminder that God’s presence is steadfast even in our darkest moments. Attendees were particularly moved by his interpretation of God preparing a table for us, highlighting God’s role as a generous host who meets our needs and fulfils our desires.

Scottish Mission Youth leader Crystal Masih was particularly moved by this message, commenting, "The promise of an eternal home with God as our eternal host is such a beautiful thought. It reminded me that no matter what happens, I have a place with Him."

The afternoon session built on the morning’s message, focusing on the attributes of God — His omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence. Pastor Ghioalda urged the youth to prioritise a relationship with God over mere religious practices, emphasising that genuine faith is about an intimate walk with Christ rather than simply adhering to traditions.

In addition to the profound spiritual messages, the event offered young people the chance to engage in group discussions, allowing them to share experiences, challenges, and insights, while fostering a sense of community and mutual support. The day also included light-hearted activities and games, adding an element of fun and joy to the spiritual experience. Many young people expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with peers who share their faith and values.
