Scottish Mission Youth Unite for Action-Packed Sports Day to Build Friendship and Faith

Scottish Mission youth marked the late June season with a day full of fun, faith, and friendly competition.

On Sunday, 29 June, youth from across the Scottish Mission gathered under blue skies for a high-energy, all-day Sports Day event marked by fun, fellowship, and faith.

Held in warm sunshine, the field came alive with a full programme of activities including dodgeball, three-legged races, football, sprint and relay races, and the ever-popular tug of war. The sound of laughter, cheering, and the occasional dramatic tumble created a vibrant atmosphere throughout the day.

Alongside the action, attendees enjoyed plenty of pizza and time to connect with one another. While competition brought excitement, the emphasis remained on community — strengthening friendships and growing together in faith.

A special highlight was the fundraising initiative led by Roko Bolatiki, the Scottish Mission’s ADRA Ambassador, who sold ice cream in support of ADRA. The sweet treat was perfectly timed for the hot weather and offered a meaningful way to contribute to a good cause.

Organisers expressed thanks for the sunshine, safety, and spirit of unity that characterised the day. Appreciation was also extended to the many volunteers whose efforts — from setting up equipment and coordinating games to preparing food and encouraging participants — helped make the event a success.

The Sports Day served as a powerful reminder of the value of shared experience and spiritual connection, and anticipation is already building for the next Scottish Mission Youth event, a weekend retreat at Gartmore scheduled for the last weekend in September.
