Children Discover God's "Living Library" at Dundee Vacation Bible School
Dundee Church welcomed 22 children to its Vacation Bible School, where they explored the theme "The Living Library of God" through Bible learning, worship and interactive activities.
Twenty-two children took part in Dundee Seventh-day Adventist Church's Vacation Bible School (VBS), held from 22–25 July, enjoying four days of Bible learning, worship, fun and fellowship.
Organised by Children's Ministries Leader Favorite Nwokocha, her husband Basil, and a dedicated team of volunteers, the programme was supported by a team of ten volunteers who assisted with teaching, activities, meal preparation and pastoral care throughout the week.
This year's theme, The Living Library of God, explored three ways in which God reveals Himself: through the Bible, our lives and nature. Each day began with a devotional message, most of which were presented by Pastor Renaldo Hines, followed by the theme song written especially for the programme by Favorite Nwokocha.
Throughout the week, children explored the books of the Bible, Judges, significant places in Scripture, and birds and animals mentioned in Scripture. Learning was reinforced through quizzes, Bible games, recitations, music and practical activities, providing an engaging and interactive experience.
Alongside the teaching programme, children enjoyed daily meals, games and recreational activities, creating opportunities to build friendships in a welcoming environment.
Friday evening included a church sleepover, with one of the highlights being a nature walk featuring interactive activities that reinforced the theme of nature as one of God's living libraries and encouraged children to appreciate God's creation.
The Vacation Bible School concluded on Sabbath, 25 July, with the children leading the Divine Service. Through Bible games, recitations, musical items and short sermon presentations, they shared what they had learned during the week. A closing ceremony followed, during which every child received a certificate recognising their participation and commitment.
Reflecting on the week, the church's communications representative, Bankole Davies-Browne, said: "We praise God for His guidance and blessing throughout the programme. We are grateful to Favorite and Basil Nwokocha, our volunteers, Pastor Renaldo Hines, parents, the Church Board, and everyone who gave their time and support to make Vacation Bible School possible. We pray that the lessons learned and the friendships formed during the week will continue to encourage our children to grow in their love for God and His Word."
