Dundee Health Expo Inspires Community Wellbeing

Promoting healthier lifestyles, the Dundee Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a community Health Expo offering free health checks, practical guidance, and opportunities for meaningful engagement.

On Sunday 26 April, Dundee City Square hosted a vibrant Health Expo organised by the Dundee Seventh-day Adventist Church Health Ministries team, led by Rhoda Fleming. The event brought together volunteers committed to promoting healthier living and community wellbeing.

The outreach provided a welcoming space for the public to engage with practical health guidance on nutrition, exercise, hydration, rest, and emotional wellbeing. Registered nurses offered free basic health checks, which were warmly received and helped individuals gain valuable insight into their current health status.

A highlight of the day was the smoothie bike, which attracted interest from all age groups. Participants pedalled to create fresh fruit smoothies, combining fun, fitness, and healthy living.

Health and spiritual literature, including The Great Controversy, Steps to Christ, and The Ministry of Healing, was also shared with attendees.

The atmosphere was positive and engaging, with many meaningful conversations taking place throughout the day. One visitor, Isaac, returned after attending the previous year’s Expo and shared his appreciation for the ongoing support, encouragement, and practical advice he had received.

Inspired by the message of Scripture, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2, NKJV), the event emphasised the importance of holistic wellbeing—body, mind, and spirit. It also highlighted the value of simple, consistent lifestyle choices in improving quality of life.

Reflecting on the event, Pastor Renaldo Hines shared, “We are grateful for the commitment and enthusiasm of all the volunteers whose teamwork made the day a success. Their willingness to serve created a meaningful impact, bringing encouragement and practical support to many within the Dundee community. As we reflect on this outreach, we are inspired to continue this important work, sharing knowledge, extending kindness, and supporting healthier, more balanced lives for all."
