Edinburgh Church Bids Farewell to Mendes Family

Celebrating years of service and commitment, Edinburgh Church hosted a send-off for the Mendes family as they relocate to Yorkshire.

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, Edinburgh Church held a farewell programme for one of its most vibrant and committed families – Jose, Jennifer, and Luisa Mendes – who are relocating to Yorkshire, England, due to work and family commitments.

Jose has served the church in various capacities, including deacon, head deacon, elder, and currently as leader of the Prayer Ministry. Jennifer has also held numerous roles, serving as a children’s Sabbath School teacher, ordained elder, head elder, elder in charge of the children’s Sabbath School, and leader of Personal Ministries and Evangelism. She additionally coordinates the fellowship lunch. Both Jose and Jennifer are active teachers in the Pathfinders and Adventurers clubs. The Mendes family is widely recognised for their exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and commitment to God and the community, coupled with a strong willingness to serve.

Members also expressed their well-wishes and prayers through a card and keepsake box presented to Jose, Jennifer, and Luisa.

Pastor Fitzroy Morris encouraged the family to continue shining their light in Yorkshire and surrounding communities and offered a dedicatory prayer for God’s guidance, protection, and continued blessings on the Mendes family.
