Glasgow Church United in Prayer Ahead of Revival Weekend
A Day of Prayer and Healing brought Glasgow Seventh-day Adventist Church together for worship, prayer and spiritual renewal ahead of its Revival Weekend.
Glasgow Seventh-day Adventist Church dedicated Sabbath, 11 July 2026, to prayer and spiritual renewal, culminating in a Night of Prayer during which nearly 50 members gathered from 10:00 p.m. until the early hours of the morning to seek God together through worship, Bible study, testimony and prayer.
The Day of Prayer and Healing was organised to prepare the congregation spiritually for the church's Revival Weekend (16–19 July), creating opportunities for members to reflect, encourage one another and deepen their relationship with Christ.
One of the most meaningful moments of the night was a personal prayer session, where individuals were invited to sit at the front of the church and share their prayer requests before members gathered around to pray for them. As burdens were laid before God, many were visibly moved, and attendees later described leaving encouraged, strengthened and spiritually refreshed.
Throughout the evening, presentations explored the themes of prayer, Bible study and sanctification, encouraging members to move beyond simply reading Scripture to studying God's Word prayerfully, to view prayer as an ongoing relationship with God, and to embrace the daily work of spiritual growth through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
Reflecting on the event, Glasgow Prayer Ministries Leader Ogechi Uchechukwu-Nwosu said the Day of Prayer and Healing fulfilled its purpose of preparing the church for the Revival Weekend while strengthening both faith and fellowship within the congregation. She noted that the personal prayer session became the defining moment of the programme and inspired many members to continue supporting one another through ongoing prayer partnerships.
The evening followed a Sabbath Divine Service centred on the theme of healing. Drawing on the account of the woman who touched Jesus' garment in Mark 5:25–34, guest speaker Beverly Anderson, Scottish Mission Prayer Ministries Sponsor, reminded the congregation that Christ invites people to come to Him just as they are, bringing every physical, emotional and spiritual burden. Members were encouraged to remember that God's healing is not only for personal restoration but also equips believers to share their testimony and point others to Christ.
The children's story reinforced the day's message through Daniel's unwavering commitment to prayer, encouraging both young and old to remain faithful to God in every season of life.
Throughout the service, members also shared testimonies of God's faithfulness and healing, including one member's recovery from advanced multiple cancers. Several reflected on the prayers and support they had received from the church family during difficult times, illustrating the strength and encouragement found in a praying community.
Commenting on the significance of the evening, Pastor Claudiu Popescu said: "True spiritual renewal begins when we move beyond formal routine and intentionally make space for the Holy Spirit to transform us from the inside out. The Night of Prayer was a beautiful reflection of this process, anchoring our upcoming Revival Weekend in Scripture, intercession and authentic community.
