Honouring Elder Koye Edwards, Resting in the Hope of Eternal Life
The Aberdeen Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Scottish Mission mourn the sudden passing of Elder Koye Edwards, a devoted husband, father, and respected church leader, whose life and service touched many.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the sudden passing of Elder Koye Edwards on 12 January. Koye was a beloved husband to Hazelloy, a devoted father, a cherished family member, and a dear friend to many. He was also a valued leader and member of the Aberdeen Seventh-day Adventist Church and served the Scottish Mission in the role of Men’s Ministries Sponsor.
Koye’s passing has come as a shock to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt. The exact cause of death is currently under investigation, but it is understood to be health-related.
Koye will be remembered for his deep faith and strong principles. He spoke with conviction, led with courage, and inspired those around him with warmth and encouragement. An influential figure in the church community, his smile and presence brought joy to many. Koye lived life fully and with passion, and his departure leaves a profound void.
We take comfort knowing he rests peacefully in the care of our Heavenly Father and in the hope of the resurrection. As it is written in John 11:25-26:
“Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.’”
Details regarding opportunities to gather, mourn, and celebrate Koye’s life will be shared in due course. In the meantime, those in need of prayer or support are encouraged to reach out to Pastor Weiers Coetser and our pastoral team, who are ready to provide comfort, guidance, and prayer.
