Pathfinder Clubs Thrive in Scotland

Guiding Young People Towards Christ Through Adventure and Service

The Pathfinder Club ministries in the Scottish Mission, led by Pathfinder Sponsor Mthoko Ndlovu, are thriving across Scotland. Clubs in Crieff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and more engage young people in spiritual growth, skill development, and community service. Through camps, Bible quizzes, and investiture services, children build faith, friendships, and life skills. Dedicated leaders and parents ensure a well-rounded experience, guiding youth towards Christ through adventure, service, and learning.

The Pathfinder Club ministries continue to thrive within the Scottish Mission, with clubs in Crieff, Faifley, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Musselburgh, Paisley, Aberdeen, Dundee, and Glasgow actively engaging young people in spiritual growth, skill development, and community service. The primary goal of these clubs is to draw all young people to Christ, equipping them with essential life skills while fostering friendships and a deeper faith.

Throughout the year, the clubs have remained dedicated to their mission, with children diligently completing their curriculum while also participating in enjoyable and enriching activities. These have included:

·       Camps, providing opportunities for outdoor adventure, team-building, and spiritual reflection.

·       Community service programmes, encouraging young people to give back to their communities through acts of kindness and service.

·       Bible quiz competitions, strengthening biblical knowledge and fostering a spirit of friendly competition.

During the months of December and January, most clubs celebrated their hard work through their investiture services. A particularly notable milestone this year was the first-ever investiture services held by the Dunfermline and Musselburgh clubs independently of Edinburgh Church, marking a significant achievement for both the children and their leaders. Crieff Church concluded their investiture with a banquet in their church hall. However, Aberdeen and Dundee are yet to hold their investitures, which are scheduled for March.

The dedication of leaders, parents, and pastors has been instrumental in the success of the clubs. Their guidance and encouragement have enabled the children to develop spiritually, physically, and vocationally, ensuring a well-rounded experience. The clubs have also served as a space for young people to form meaningful friendships and strengthen their faith in a supportive environment.

I am incredibly pleased with the hard work and commitment demonstrated by the leaders, children, and all those who have supported the Pathfinder clubs this year. Their efforts have ensured a successful and fulfilling experience for all involved. Looking ahead, we remain committed to expanding our programmes, strengthening our clubs, and continuing to guide our young people towards Christ through adventure, service, and learning.
