Scottish Mission President’s Easter Address to Church Family

In his Easter message, Scottish Mission President Pr Jimmy Botha reflects on the hope and purpose found in Christ’s death and resurrection.

Around this time each year, Christians around the world pause to reflect on the greatest gift ever given – the gift of salvation.

As we remember the sacrifice of Jesus and celebrate His glorious resurrection, we are reminded that hope is not a mere concept – it is a Person. Jesus’ victory over death is not only the foundation of our faith – it is the very heart of our mission. In a world weighed down by conflict, confusion, and chaos, the resurrection offers more than just comfort – it provides direction. It calls us to live differently, to love courageously, and to lead generously.

In The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, John Mark Comer writes, “Hurry is violence on the soul.”  The Easter season invites us to slow down, to breathe in resurrection hope, and to allow the Holy Spirit to renew and transform us, empowering us to become a gracious presence in our churches, in our communities, and throughout Scotland.

The Scottish Mission continues to grow – not only in numbers, but in purpose. As we press forward with our vision of thriving, Christ-centred communities, may this season of resurrection rekindle our courage to share the good news with both compassion and conviction.

He is risen. He is here. And He is still transforming lives.

With Easter hope,

Pr Jimmy Botha
