West of Scotland Churches Host Inspiring Family Life Week
Family Life Week in the West of Scotland brought together church members for a week of teaching, worship, and community, focusing on faithfully navigating the challenges and changes of family life.
From 7–13 September, the West of Scotland churches came together for a memorable Family Life Week under the theme “Faithfully Navigating Family Transitions.” Led by guest speakers Dr Temitayo and Dr Oyetola Odewusi, the programme offered practical wisdom, biblical guidance, and encouragement for families navigating the challenges of 21st-century life.
Each evening, members joined on Zoom to listen, learn, and share. Every session offered fresh insights into family transitions and emphasised the importance of approaching them with faith, patience, and grace. The speakers engaged warmly with participants, allowing time for questions and reflection. These interactive moments made the sessions deeply personal and relevant, helping individuals and families see how faith can guide them through both everyday life and times of change.
The series reached its peak on Sabbath, when the churches of Paisley, Faifley, and the Paisley Sabbath School Branch united for a Family Life service. The morning programme was particularly uplifting, featuring worship, teaching, workshops, sharing sessions, and joyful singing. During the service, Pastor Ratko Risteski led a moving baby dedication, praying for God’s blessings on the child, for his growth in faith, and for guidance for his family as they nurture him.
Following the service, the congregation celebrated the anniversary of guest speakers Dr Temitayo and Dr Oyetola Odewusi. Members offered prayers of gratitude for their ministry and family, asking God to continue using them as instruments of His grace. The celebration added a personal and touching note to the day, highlighting the beauty of lasting commitment and the joy of walking together in God’s calling.

In the afternoon, families of all ages participated in practical workshops and engaging activities. These sessions fostered fellowship, learning, and fun, reinforcing the week’s message that families grow stronger when they spend time together, share openly, and centre their lives on God.
Family Life Week was a rich blessing — a time of teaching, worship, celebration, and community. Many members expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pause, reconnect, and be reminded that, with God’s help, families can navigate life’s transitions faithfully and with hope.
