Celebrating Eleven Baptisms in the West of Scotland District
One of the most joyous moments in the life of any church is witnessing someone surrender their life to Jesus through baptism. On 7th September, the churches of western Scotland—Faifley, Irvine, and Paisley—came together to share in the joy as eleven young individuals, including six Pathfinders, were baptised at Faifley Church. Members from across the district attended the event, with each church presenting its own candidates for baptism.
These joyful moments followed a series of Bible studies led by the local pastor, Ratko Risteski, in which the candidates had the chance to learn about the fundamental beliefs of the Adventist Church. The baptismal service saw an impressive turnout with family, friends, and church members filling Faifley Church. In addition to representatives from all the churches who took part in the ceremony, Pastor Njabulo (Njay) Ndlovu addressed the congregation with a fitting spiritual message and took part in baptising several Pathfinders. We are deeply grateful for the impact Pastor Njabulo and his wife, Mthokozisi, have had on the Pathfinders, guiding many of them in their decision to follow Christ. After a decade of dedicated service, Pastor Njabulo and Mthokozisi recently stepped down as the Scottish Mission Pathfinder Sponsors, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership and faith.
The baptismal ceremony was filled with songs and inspiring short talks, reinforcing the message to the candidates to keep their focus on Jesus. They were reminded that while they may face new challenges after baptism, they can overcome anything with the strength and guidance of Christ.
Please pray for these young people as they continue to grow in their spiritual journey with Christ.
