Scottish Mission Youth Join Thousands at TED Bible Experience Finals
Demonstrating strong biblical knowledge, Scottish Mission youth participated in the TED Adventurer and Pathfinder Bible Experience finals in Katowice, achieving notable results.
In an inspiring display of faith, dedication, and commitment to biblical knowledge, the Trans-European Division (TED) Adventurer and Pathfinder Bible Experience (ABE/PBE) finals were held in Katowice, Poland, on 11 April. This year’s event, focused on the book of Isaiah, brought together 62 Adventurer teams from 10 countries and 139 Pathfinder teams from 16 countries, with a total of 2,839 participants from across the Division. Participants were united by a shared commitment to Bible study, teamwork, and spiritual growth, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual encouragement among competitors from diverse nations and backgrounds. The event proved to be both spiritually uplifting and deeply memorable.
The Scottish Mission was represented by three Adventurer teams and one Pathfinder team. Despite travel challenges affecting some members of the River Dee Pathfinder team, they achieved an outstanding second place at the TED level. Notably, they also secured first place at the North American Division (NAD) level through online testing—an achievement that reflects their exceptional dedication and hard work.
Beyond the competition itself, the spiritual impact of the programme is significant. Kevin Johns, TED Pathfinder Director, highlighted how initiatives like PBE are leading many young people to Christ, sharing an example of an upcoming baptism involving a young participant and their mother, both introduced to the church through the programme. Similarly, Pastor Njabulo Ndlovu, BUC Youth Director, reflected on his own experience as a young person and shared one of his favourite verses from Psalm 119:11: “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.” He noted that PBE offers young people a practical opportunity to do exactly that—hiding God’s Word in their hearts in a way that enriches and sustains their walk with Christ.
For our Scottish Mission participants, reaching the finals represents a remarkable achievement, requiring committed preparation, disciplined study, and effective teamwork through successive local and regional rounds.
We extend a heartfelt congratulations to every Adventurer and Pathfinder from Scotland who took part in this journey. Special appreciation also goes to the dedicated Mission Sponsors, club directors, counsellors, and parents whose tireless support and encouragement made participation possible. Their investment in the spiritual growth of young people is clearly bearing lasting fruit.
May this experience inspire even more of our young people to take up the challenge of the Pathfinder Bible Experience, hiding God's Word in their hearts and carrying His light wherever they go.
